The main excursions of the Three Gorges Cruises
Little Three Gorges
It always refers to the three separate valleys of the Daning Rivers, namely “Dragon-Gate Gorge”, ”Misty Gorge” and “Dicui Gorge”. These three gorges, with an area of 160 hectares of forest, lie on the lower reaches of Daning, extending from the entrance of the Dragon-Gate Gorge in the south to Tujianba in the north for 50 km. Here sheer cliffs and steep mountains rise on either side, creating one of natural fine arts gallery as natural scenic wonders unfold on both banks of the river. Clear water flows between precarious precipices with peaks covered with green trees and bushes.

Fengdu
Located on the northern bank of the Yangtze, 176 km downstream from Chongqing. Fengdu, known as the “Ghost City” is a very popular shore excursion for Yangtze River cruise visitors. Fengdu gained its reputation as the “Ghost City” in the Eastern Han Dynasty when two officials from the imperial court came to the region to practice Taoist. Their surnames Yin and Wang, when combined sound very much like “king of Hell” in Chinese, hence the local people started to call Fengdu the “Ghost City”

Shibaozhai
Represents one of the gems of Chinese architecture along the Yangtze River. From afar, the protruding 220-meter hill on the north bank appears to be a jade seal. The creation of the hill is attributed to the goddess Nuwo. Who caused a rockslide while she was redecorating the sky after a fierce battle between two warring dukes. A red pavilion hugs one side of this rock. Its tall yellow entrance gate is decorated with lions and dragons. The temple at the top was built during the reign of the Emperor Qianlong (1736 – 39). No nails were used in the construction of this magnificent structure appropriately named “The Pearl of Yangtze”.
