Day 01: Entry Beijing
Upon your arrival in Beijing---the capital of China, our professional tour guide will meet you at the Beijing International Airport and escort you to the Grand Hotel Beijing (or similar) with air-conditioned private bus. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 02: Beijing
Visit the Tiananmen Square, the biggest public city square in the world and the must place to visit in Beijing. Cross the gate of Tiananmen into the Forbidden City, the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it is the world's largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. After lunch, go to the Summer Palace to sightsee, the best preserved and the second largest royal garden in China, with a history of over 800 years. Attend a welcome dinner featuring Beijing Roast Duck in the evening.
Day 03: Beijing
Today’s highlight is to visit the Great Wall, the most magnificent defense works and one of the few man-made structures visible from space. The Wall rises and falls with the contours of the mountains westward extending more than 5000 kilometers from its origin at the seaside in Shanhaiguan to the end of Jiayuguan in the west part of China. Then, take sightseeing for the Sacred Way, a 7-kilometer-long sacred way flanked by 18 pairs of giant stone statues of men and animals as important decorations of the grounds, in which the ancients believed the spirits of the royal dead to walk on. The Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) were buried.
Day 04: Beijing/Xian
After breakfast, take a morning flight to Xi'an and transfer to the Shangrila Golden Flower Hotel. Visit the Ancient City Wall, the best preserved, oldest and largest ancient city defense system in China, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the most distinctive and outstanding city landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today, the Shannxi Historical Museum, one of the finest museums in China. Attend the Dumpling Dinner, featuring more than 20 varieties of traditional Chinese dumplings, in the evening.
Day 05: Xi'an
Today’s highlight is a visit the Terracotta Warriors and the Bronze Chariots, designed for the tomb of China’s first emperor –Qinshihuang. Thousands of life size warriors and horses still stand on the original site in military formation of the emperor’s burial complex. Afterwards, visit the Huaqing Hot Spring Park and Xiahe Village. Watch the Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.
Day 06: Xi’an/Dunhuang
After breakfast, take a morning flight to Dunhuang—known for the Mogao Thousand Buddha cave complex and the most spectacular in China. Visit the Echoing Sand Mountain- surrounded by rolling ridges and precipitous cliffs of dune, offers superb picture-book desert scenery, the Crescent Lake--formed by spring water trickling up into a depression between huge sand dunes. Riding camel across the sand dune is option.
Day 07: Dunhuang/Urumqi
Visit the Mogao Grottoes, are set into a cliff wall of Echoing-sand Mountain about 25km southeast of the oasis city. The honeycombed caves, enjoying a millennium long construction from the 4th to the 14th centuries and marking the height of Buddhist art, are the world's richest treasure house of Buddhist sutras, murals and sculptures, for the whole day. Fly to Urumqi in the evening and transfer to the deluxe Yin Du Hotel.
Day 08: Urumqi
Urumqi was on the northern route of the ancient Silk Road. After breakfast, visit the Heavenly Lake, It is 1900 meters above the sea level and an excellent summer resort as well as an ideal alpine arena in winter, and a local Kazakhs family who still stay at a yurt in the surrounding pastureland. Then visit the Xinjiang Museum to learn the traditional cultures of minority nationalities in Xinjiang.
Day 09: Urumqi/ Turpan
Take a bus to Turpan in the morning and check in the Turpan Grand Hotel. Visit the Ancient Gaochang City, the high city walls, the crisscrossing streets and the city moat are still visible, the Bizakik Thousand- Buddha Caves, and Astana Ancient Tomb, this Tang-dynasty burial ground known as the "Underground Museum" attracts stream of archaeologists both at home and abroad. Enjoy a Uygur Singing and Dancing Performance after dinner.
Day 10: Turpan/Kashgar
After breakfast, visit the Grape Valley,lying at the base of the western end of Flaming Mountains is a world of unique with vineyards and fruit trees, The Karez Irrigation System, is considered as one of the three great ancient projects in China. The structure of the karez basically consists of wells, underground channels, ground canals and small reservoirs. Taking advantage of the mountain slopes, the working people ingeniously created the karez to draw the underground water to irrigate the farmland. Drive back to Urumqi and take an evening flight to Kashgar and transfer to the Kashgar Hotel.
Day 11: Kashgar
After breakfast, visit Abakh Khoja Tomb, served as the family tomb of Abakh Khoja, the powerful ruler of Kashgar in the 17th century who was revered as a prophet and second only to Mohammed, the Idkar Mosque, built in 1426 and is the largest mosque in Xinjiang and the centre of the Moslem activities, and the Sunday bazaar, the biggest Uygur trade market in Xinjiang as well as a ancient city.
Day 12: Kashgar/Shanghai
Take a morning flight to Shanghai via Urumqi and transfer to the Regal International East Asia Hotel. Shanghai is China’s most populous metropolis, commercial center and a city with profound cultural legacy.
Day 13: Shanghai
Visit the Shanghai Museum, especially famous for its treasures of bronzes, ceramics, painting and calligraphy, Jade Temple, Yu Garden and the neighboring old Shanghai bazaar, fill with curio shops and souvenirs. Wander along the Bund—a symbol of Shanghai. Enjoy an amazing acrobatic show in the evening.
Day 14: Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai
This morning, take a bus to Suzhou, known for its ancient picturesque gardens and the beautiful legendary Grand Canal. Today’s sightseeing tour includes the Grand Canal—a masterpiece of both the ancient and the new, the Humble Administrator’s Garden—one of the four most famous gardens in China, the Embroidery Research Institute and the Tiger Hill-- the most attractive spot of historical interest in Suzhou. Then take bus back to Shanghai.
Day 15: Shanghai
Enjoy a full day of leisure in Shanghai. Fell free to explore Shanghai such as visiting themed museums and profession-oriented museums, tasting delicious dishes, exploring characteristic streets, or mounting the Oriental Pearl Tower to view the up-to-date Shanghai fashion etc. at your own. Attend the farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 16: Depart from Shanghai
Transfer to the Pudong International Airport and take a flight to your next destination. Your China tour and service end.
